Yes very much, you can get -45 magic enemey resistances. Actually playing one now and doing A2 against the unraveller and zombies at decent speeds.

Yeah it's a decent damage bump. And I do use Abyss a lot against packs.

Just to help group them before sending the hammers? or does it function as a dmg spell?

Just to crowd control. Specially helpful on HC against things like lord de seis and heralds.

with that setup, p8 unravelers have 80k hp / 100% magic resist, while you have black clef and uber jewel hitting 25k per hammer vs undead with 38% -resist, so ~10750 hp per hammer, about 8 hits to kill unravelers on average (in P8)
