Removing both of those and any other outside influences would make D2 a very different game. I think it would be a blast!!
But sadly, that’s not the reality we have. You just need to adapt the way you see fit
Just before D2R came out I played a ladder of D2 to brush up on the game. I rushed to Hell Meph and was so hyped to find a Shako. I showed it off on FaacceBoook and was pretty much laughed at. That’s when I learned about Jsp and how strong of an influence it had. My Shako was nothing
I tend to min/max everything I can within reason. I took Jsp and made it a part of my gameplan going forward after that. D2R released and I did hundreds of Uber kills for torches. I had pay2win all the keys and gear. Farmed 100k fg off Unid torches. That was just the beginning. It only got more crazy from there going forward… Anni was mind blowing
I still hope that they add in-game auction house at some point. I guess a lot of people then would not look for external trading sites.
You are right. D2jsp and other sides are influencing everyone, no matter if I am here or not (e.g., they influence economy, although still some people on BN trade like it is still 2008; I like it). Have to adapt. I am still not sure what approach should I take. Whether d2jsp should play central or peripheral role in my ladder.
It is difficult to trade in game, but trading on d2jsp also takes time. I feel like when I trade a lot here, I am spending more time on the form than farming in the game. I dont like this since I am time constrainted. But at the same time dont want to "fall behind" by not trading. It would be great if we had mode where we can play multiplayer but could not trade or pick up items from others (bind on equip).
Thx for the story. Interesting. Yeah, forum allows for crazy optimalization and to do a lot of more stuff faster, on bigger scale. Interesting. I have never thought that one could reach 100k on their own. This is appealing in some way because one can then trully allow buying goldy/trophy items and acheving true min/max. That's why I might do small optimalization next ladder so that I start horker earlier and simply earn more. But at the same time, I am afraid that I trully can take away some fun out of the game. Or maybe we are then just playing other game. And I could just endorse it fully.
