Do people max res?

Depends on gear. Sometimes yes, sometimes not possible.

Yes for the longest time I ran 1 less skiller to fit 3 more life/all res SCs to have max lightning and fire res on my Java. Cold isn't a priority since you have Ravenfrost for absorb and Poison isn't a huge deal with Cure on Merc.

Assuming you have 40 res from Torch and Anni and 9x 5all res SC, then with standard cookie cutter gear; Enigma, Highlord, Spirit, Griffon. You have 15 fire and lightning resist and it is not crazy expensive to get 60 fire and 60 light from ring, gloves and boots. You also have the option of putting an IAS/res jewel in the Griffon also.

Personally my Javazon was my first character and over many seasons of deal hunting I have needlessly expensive PVM frw tri-res boots with 110 total res and 9 dex and also comically overpriced 2jav/20ias gloves with 3MAEK and 29 light res and a 5 point FCR ML STR Mana Fire Res AR because she is a sentimental money sink project of mine.

my res are around -3 on all elements

I could and plan to swap the gloves for 2/20 with res on and I could swap my rings for ones with res on and that's about it

was going to put the new jewel in the griffon, so no 15 ias 15 res there



I have some good tri res boots I could put on her

I think it's a good money sink as it's a pretty functional and capable char to have sentimental feelings for

I mostly played dogshit builds avoiding the best ones but always had a javazon in the back my head as something I'd like to play most of the time

it's probably going to take time to have something that I'm happy with

I run max resists across the board simply because I absolutely hate glass cannons. It sacrifices damage and many people don't find the loss in damage worth the extra safety.

Skill difference they call it, just dodge everything they say. I hate dodge or die playstyles.

but at the same time I feel pretty similar, would be nice to be a bit tanky

Ya she has terrible FCR frames too so you can't really avoid getting blown up by Souls or whatever.



Yeah I don't know what prices are like anymore, but for reference, I was able to buy duo res 2/20 fire light res gloves, 4 point FCR ML STR mana ring for about 300 fg each and fire light res FRW boots for about 80 fg back when Jah Ber were about 80 and 60 before I decided to spend like 5k fg on boots, glove and ring.

this answers my question for me, going to have to get some res from rare/craft items, will use 5@ scs too

flickering flame is a good/cheap option as a merc helm on java to help mitigate res issues

Yeah max res is good, especially if you’re in hardcore. I usually use 2-3 35+ life +14-15 all res grand charms then fill the rest if inventory with skillers, javazons do so much damage you don’t need 9x skillers, having to throw one extra fury or charged strike a game isn’t a big deal by any means so many people get fixated on doing the most damage possible
