If you look closely warlock was buffed you're just not looking at the big picture.

I don’t mind it, as still seems competent at p3 which is what I actively pay online. Have tried ES and fire, and while elected to play without demon, and it not longer slaughters p8 with wirts leg, it seems like it would be “doable”.

That being said, the changes were drastic enough to be considered game changing and people may try to refund on steam.
Arguing that it does alter the game they paid for, which for many was because of the bound demon.
Not saying they will get it but they can, and has happened before with dlc.
Personally I think they reduced it to much on the ES builds, but certainly not to the “unplayable” point.

*edit: I should add that I also believe only those who specifically bought expansion would be able to contact for refund. Those who bought infernal wouldn’t be able to
