Dear diary, I was wrong. I hope people forget this post which proves I was wrong but here we are some joker decided to bump it. Oopsie.


Except they weren’t.
Conviction still spawns with super uniques.
It doesn’t however roll, just as the patch notes said for bound demons.

ps just go fire or demon for the least impact of changes

he wasnt even the best demon to spam to quickly get get curse + holy aura
here we are 3months in almost and people still arent running lvl 20 bind demon and spamming tz games until cursed tz rolls to bind a cursed + holy aura demon

people refuse to think for themselves then cry when things are difficult

like any reasonable person thought would happen there are many more bugs introduced from them trying to fix things
offline text files are missing fields and values

all that being said... conviction bound demons are gone in the ptr and the curse chance is closer to 15% per hit than 5%


other ptr things i have tested so far:

heralds will spawn just off screen without warning so its possible for you to tele once and just die as you are moving in the map
you have an 84% to spawn a tier 1 herald and a 70% chance to spawn at least a tier 2 herald for clearing a tz area tier 3/4/5 still ~1%
tier 2 heralds have pre ptr tier 4 herald drop tables --> latent sunders will drop more than gheeds did pre ptr

miasma bolt has much more delayed dmg but still quite good early game dmg
miasma chains swapped role from aoe dmg to single target dmg -> very high clear speed potential but requires korean levels of piloting
abyss got a small buff to radius even if the size of the graphic does not show it


fire skills are mostly unchanged it seems as a playthrough option
i havent tested super high end gear so the dmg scaling on flame wave might have hit a bit harder at +20 all/chaos skills not sure

non eth insight echo build requires: amp/decrep source -target defense source a high level might (or conc) source and a full charm inventory for clearing things quickly above p3
lethargy was a temporary solution for most of those requirements before removing the phys res pierce but now its pretty shit as a debuff option
chance to bind the demon is not xx% hp removed + yy% chance to bind on the skill so its much harder to get the demon you want --> you now have yy% chance to bind a demon once the demons hp is below the yy% on chance to bind in the tooltip
for example at lvl 27 you have a 26% chance to bind a demon however that 26% does not matter until their hp is below 26%

you can now kill your demon by spamming goat/defilier/tainted beyond the max your demon mastery allows
most bound demons can die quite easily in combat

maxing blood oath makes you far less tanky than before


tldr with the ptr changes:
warlock overall is closer to paladin in content clearing ability given similar quality gear
pvp warlock is now even more better and more bm but theres no way to really test how much online yet

I'm just messing around. Personally I have no interest in the conviction demons anyways. I think it's stupid they nerfed it. Honestly they should just keep bind demon conviction and make infinity have a lvl 20 conv. Then both parties are happy and there's still a reason to work toward infinity. I can see how other classes are jealous but the trees need an overhaul at this point anyways similar to what pd2 did via making multi damage spells (meteor). Or how bloodboil exists for early warlock farming if echoing wasn't so good. If each class has a multi-damage starter hell ability then they have a reason to roll that class at the start of each season. Having to farm on one class first to get to play the class you want to is a bit of an outdated concept.
