I’ve seen these terms used recently here on our forum, in reference to complaints about the “nerfs” being tested on PTR for the warlock.

And I can’t deny that complaining about the rational balancing of a character that came to us in a completely and absurdly overpowered state might be a sign of being a brat who’s incapable of facing the game as a real challenge. And yes, there are simpler games I could play instead of this one… I could even spend my time with coloring books for toddlers.

That said,
I’m almost 40 years old. The fact that I’m even writing these lines is probably already a clear symptom of how pathetic my life is. And that’s despite the fact that I’m aware, more or less, of how incredibly lucky I am. I work more than 45 hours a week at a job that, while not my dream, I’m deeply afraid of losing. The money I could earn goes to taxes paid to a government that never stops acting corruptly and using it mainly to ensure they stay in power… On top of that, much of what I earn I save, only to watch it lose value in the bank, never quite being able to afford the down payment on a house I can’t afford anyway.

I see my parents getting older, their minds worsening day by day. I see my body aging, my hair slowly disappearing. My friends are few, and increasingly distant and busy. I spend money on useless things that don’t make me happier, and more often than I’d like to admit, the question of whether to keep going in life has playfully crossed my mind.

So believe me: despite everything, I know my life is still easy... but we do know what a real challenge is.

I love this game, and I believe it’s healthy for it to be properly balanced. But this absurd character showed up and gave me happiness. Like when the hobbits return battle-hardened to the Shire at the end of The Lord of the Rings, and freeing it becomes an easy task compared to everything they’ve been through—a swan song.

I’m grateful to have enjoyed these two months roaming Sanctuary on the highest difficulty, effortlessly wiping out every living creature as if it were a joke. And honestly, given the option of simply not playing the warlock expansion, I would’ve loved for this character to remain somehow “fun” and “easy.”

But as I said, I love the game, and it needs to be balanced so it doesn’t die on the long term… But there’s no need to be so harsh on those who complain—because they’re probably already carrying enough weight on their shoulders.

You dont complain, you expressed your feelings in a relatable way. Thats a rare thing in this environment.

I’m all for making pvm more “easy” I like the speed run style pvm not standing still and having to attack the same enemy many times. It’s more engaging if it’s overpowered so you can focus on blasting through shit as fast as possible.

Sure trivializes the initial playthrough but I couldn’t care less about that. Difficultly in the pvm in this game is that purely tedium. The weaker builds aren’t harder to play, they just make playing a time slog

To be honest, yeah... The game is already extremely easy. It doesn't bother me if it became easier in that aspect.
