I think people are overvaluing how much china cares about this, tbh. As far as oil exports they can replace them fairly easily. Iran accounts for about 11% of their imported oil.

This is missing the actual crux. Yes, Iranian oil accounts for only 11% of Chinese oil imports - but all the oil coming through the Strait of Hormuz, i.e. the exports from SA, VAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq and Iran all taken together, make up a much larger share of China's energy mix. So a proper, airtight blockade of the Strait would have been unpalatable to their most important ally, and therefore not something they could threaten with actual credibility.

So they tried to come up with a "best of both worlds"-scenario for themselves in which they would have waved through tankers form the Gulf states headed toward their allies (China), perhaps extort a small fee from them, while keeping tankers for the West blocked. The US obviously couldn't tolerate that, hence Trump's counter-blockade.

It also explains why Trump is so irate at the way the NATO allies are dwiddling their thumbs and acting like this fight for control of the Strait doesn't concern them.

The more we know them, the more we know that Neo Cons aren't just in USA.

Sometimes, I think Israel or Jews might just be right (In some cases of course not all).
I remember speaking to one here in private asking a question why they would do what they do.

He ( I think that person is a he). Told me that just because a country or entity or nation haven't or didn't go to war or screw them over in history, it doesn't mean they won't try to in future.
Although extremely screwed up, but I can empathize their viewpoints because they have been unfairly treated for a thousand years. Which I think it is somehow fair they think that way.

Looking at some Europeans here who are dead beat on screwing a country that have never touched them in history but yet they have touch i.e China in History multiple times and they continue to do so.

I would think if the Chinese do not use methods that will make those countries who unprovoked by them and yet purposely trying to subjugate China know the consequences...then ....perhaps the Chinese needs to be eradicated for showing such cowardice.

Oh, I totally agree that the NATO framework would have been the wrong umbrella for such a mission. And I totally understand why the Europeans aren't keen on putting their soldiers and vessels on the line to help Trump clean up the mess which he - in their eyes - started recklessly and needlessly. Particularly after the Greenland shit he was pulling earlier this year. Turns out your allies hesitate to come to your aid if you treat them like shit or start wars without consulting with them first.

I was simply explaining Trump's perspective on this issue and why it rubs him the wrong way. In his eyes, he's sovling a long-standing and growing problem and doing Europe a huge favor. Meanwhile, the Europeans go "man, this is so inconvenient - why did you have to rock the boat so much?"

Shane Gillis finally re-opened the straight of Hormuz. Remains closed to Iranian ships until a deal is finalized.
