mang much more dmg. obsession should work just as well if you don't play much p8

This is a very good useful guide to start with. I can vouch as I just recently got to 99 as fire warlock in hardcore, and I used it to learn the class and beat the game.

If you're playing hardcore/want more survivability, just get max resistances, as much damage reduction you can (up to 50% max), and max block (enough dex to get 75% block with Eld'ed Stormshield). I used Stormshield with Shako for the majority of my playthrough. Later on to clear P8 with more speed I got a Verdungos belt, Ars Dul Mephisto book for offhand, and flickering flame helm, maintaining the stat/talent build I used previously for the max block SS. Ended up with around 40-45% block with the book.

125 fcr isn't necessary for this build, but it's noticeably better than 75fcr. Aim for 200+ mf, which is easily obtainable with enigma, shako, gheeds and new jewel. You can use wartravs too if you want, but I went with Wraithstep and Aldur's boots for the most of the time.

My biggest tip to new fire locks is use Ring of Fire more. It's insanely busted. Instacast knockback/stun makes you effectively unkillable. Consume health%+, Blood Oath points on top if it just makes you laughably invulnerable with max dr and block.

Enigma has tons of mf.

I think obsession is better as it frees up some gear slots away from fcr, since the book augment is mandatory now to wield.

That said, Mang is a solid choice because of the book requirement and you will surely get more fire DPS, but you’ll have to make up 10%fcr somewhere from an amulet or elsewhere to hit the 125 bp.
