I don’t think it was worded clearly tbh. I suspect your interpretation is right now that I’ve reread a few times. But I wouldn’t be surprised the other way either.
Idk I feel like if they were not allowing conviction on bind demon at all that it would just be easier to say “YOU CAN NO LONGER BIND DEMONS THAT HAVE CONVICTION AURA.”
It seems a lot of people think the “aura pool” is referring to the auras that monsters can have and they don’t seem to understand that once you have enough points into bind demon that any demon you bind gets a random aura from the “aura pool” that bind demon provides, and now they’re removing conviction (and other auras) from that aura pool and replacing them with conc, vigor, etc.
No where does it say that conviction is being removed
No where does it say demons won’t spawn with conviction anymore
No where does it say you can’t bind demons that have conviction aura
Also this conviction aura pool is listed under the warlock tab of the patch notes which pretty much solidifies that it only applies to the bind demon aura pool
To me, it’s pretty straight forward but I can admit that blizzard isn’t known for being the most trustworthy/straight forward company and they’ve definitely dropped the ball for sure
Luckily we will know within a few minutes of the patch going live tomorrow and all this will be behind us until we get official patch notes for next ladder
