What do you do for work?

Yeah it's kinda crazy, considering we're a 24 hour operation and only the big holidays we get off.
I have to weigh 2 options, go salary and get paid if sick which I never am or lose my OT on my on call.
I'd prefer to keep my overtime pay and double pay over getting paid while sick.

This can be obtained by eating enough dirt and dust when you were a child, also min maxing your immune system by eating things past expiration dates.
Like the kings back in the old days, a little bit of poison in the wine here and there to curb the eventual assassination attempt.

That makes sense. We're always on call too, but it's split between 3 people. 2 weeks on, 1 month off. But regardless because I live on-site and care about my job, I'm kinda 24/7. I'm so over it though. Even today is my day off but I'll be coming into work around 8-9am to help a restoration company.

Good on call rotation, mines every 2 weeks, wish it was a month.

When we have someone call after hours we get the generic plant number so I don't know who called.
I will make them leave a message, if they decide not to I don't care and wont try to find out who out of the 50 departments called.
Sometimes they spam call me and don't leave a message, so I'll turn on the shower and answer the phone so they can join me while I talk to them, or flush the toilet mid call.

We've lately been getting calls for other properties. Im just like sorry, I dont work at your building or even in your state. I can't help. That's the joy we get from using AI to answer our emergency calls.

Weird they'd call someone else' maint team.

It's because the AI is going based off what the person says. If they say the property name and stay it badly, the Ai will pick it up as something else and redirect the call. It's really stupid. We've even had the Ai submit a work order for someone from another property into our work order system (entrada). Our property labels units as, as in example, 1-128, 128 being the unit number and the 1- just being our building. We've gotten work orders like 14-128, meaning it's somewhere else.

We used to have a real call center... I miss those times.
