I do

Judge hits 2 or 3, not lead off
Raleigh hits 2nd
I'll give you ohtani even though he hit 2nd with the angels and I believe only started being lead off with the dodgers full time this year

None of those guys you mentioned (except the unicorn ohtani) hits leadoff like shwarber does. Judge did a little bit on 2022 and only for like 20 games on 2023.

The speedy .300 lead off days aren't gone. You just proved it?

Schwarber doesn't hit leadoff though. He has hit in the 2 spot all season...

True. But he also isn't in the same league as judge or ohtani

Whatchu mean? As a hitter he absolutely is. Those guys are ahead of him, but he's in the same league. We gonna act like Schwarber didn't finish 2nd in MVP voting last season? If it wasn't for Ohtani being the freak he is Schwarber is the reigning MVP.

Schwarber doesn't play the other side of the ball, which takes away value. But as a hitter? You're talking about top 5 in MLB.

I don't think he is a a top 5 offensive player in the league even with last year. Average to low. Strikeouts too high. Obp too low even though it was decent last year

You look at least year as the norm instead of an outlier

Led the NL in HRs and led MLB in RBI last season.

Not to mention posted the 6th best wRC+ in MLB (Weighted Runs Created Plus is an advanced baseball statistic that measures a hitter’s total offensive value, adjusted for ballpark factors and league context).

Oh, and also 5th best OPS in MLB last season.

So top 5? Arguable. In terms of power hitters, easily. Overall offensively? Top 10 for sure. You don't finish 2nd in MVP voting as a DH unless you're absolutely elite offensively lol. He had a ridiculous season last year.

Its not like he hasn't been great the years prior either, this guy is AVERAGING 47 HR's and an .860 OPS in his 4 seasons in Philly so far. He has hit 46+ HRs in 3 of the 4 seasons. Just nasty.

His season was great. But I don't look at one single season to determine offensive rankings. Last year was an outlier. I don't believe he will get close to those numbers this year

Edit: missed your last part. Hrs are great until you see he hit .197 and .218 in two of those seasons lol. His BA is terrible for all of those years. Highest was .248

Batting average is a terrible indicator these days though. Atleast in modern baseball because it treats all hits equally (ignoring walks and power) and lacks context for overall offensive contribution. MLB needs to do away with making BA the main stat tbh. These days almost nobody in baseball hits .300.

In 2022 schwarber barely hit .200 and was still top 7 in the NL in OPS.

Schwarbs is the best offensive player on this team and it's not remotely close. Harper should be, but my boy has been "not elite" for too long unfortunately.

Edit: with all that said, this team 100% has an issue with being either all or nothing. And come playoff time....who knows.

The Phillies have only scored in 1 inning in the last 27

WTF. This offense sucks

Offense sucking and starting pitching been pretty bad. Luzardo had a beautiful no hitter going through 4 innings and then boom...implosion.

Bullpen is absolutely lights out though. Elite stuff so far from them coming into today and just once again shut it down after Luzardo got rocked.

I'm still confident on their starting rotation. Things will settle when wheeler comes back. You have way more confidence in luzardo than I do though

It's the offense that will sink this team.
