And just like that back above .500

From 1-3 to 4-3

They've had like top 4 easiest schedule in the MLB and they still are barely over .500

This offense sucks ass

Thompson needs to go

It's pretty ugly with how inconsistent this offense is, but damn....calling for his head already? What are we, 7% into the season? They just signed Topper to an extension no chance

Plus, what does Rob have to do with guys simply not executing simple shit at the plate? He can't hit for them.

It's a looooong season. The same way we can't buy into the highs too much, we also can't go suicidal after a few games.

Why did we rewards mediocrity?

This team needs a spark, and that's the spark that's needed

Yes I'm aware it's a very long season. The pitching will be great. I'm not even worried about that. But the hitting wont.

The lineups he's throwing out there are terribad.

What lineups do you recommend then?

This is the same team that has the most wins in MLB over the last two seasons. I understand needing a spark at some point, but just saying we gotta wait at least until halfway before pressing the panic button.

Turner/Crawford as 1/2
Harper at 3
Swarb at 4

Rest is whoever is hitting well

Most wins in the MLB...that spawns two years....these fucks are 2 years older....

The top offensive players are on the wrong side of 30. There was no "refresh" to this offense that has sputtered when it mattered the last two years. They just decided to throw it back like it's working or something.

The argument of Schwarber at cleanup has been tried many times before. He simply doesn't perform as well there. It's also not 2007 anymore. He hits leadoff or 2nd where he is best.

I agree Crawford will need to be moved up soon. But the approach of easing the rookie in is a smart one. You give him too much at once and guys struggle. Nowhere near as much pressure hitting in the back end. At this rate he'll get there though for sure. I mean look at Marsh, since May of last year he's hitting .303.

That's a shortcoming of this lineup. There is no one to protect Harper. No is afraid of bohm so they can pitch around him.

When's the last time he hit clean up? Hitting all your home runs as leadoff sucks. Name another team who puts their best power guy as leadoff lmao

Bro....

You don't want many MLB games outside of the Phillies, or?

MLB teams have been hitting power guys leadoff or second for YEARS now lol. Judge has hit leadoff a bunch in recent years, and primary hits second every game. Ohtani hits leadoff, Cal Raleigh (MLB HR leader last season with 60) typically hits 2nd. The list goes on...its every team.

It simply comes down to teams hitting their best hitters top of the lineup to get them more plate appearances. Each slot in the batting order is worth 20-25 more plate appearances over the course of the season. That becomes significant. The days of the speedy .300 BA leadoff guy are long gone. Turner is still that I guess technically (best batting average in the NL last season at .304), but its RARE.

I do

Judge hits 2 or 3, not lead off
Raleigh hits 2nd
I'll give you ohtani even though he hit 2nd with the angels and I believe only started being lead off with the dodgers full time this year

None of those guys you mentioned (except the unicorn ohtani) hits leadoff like shwarber does. Judge did a little bit on 2022 and only for like 20 games on 2023.

The speedy .300 lead off days aren't gone. You just proved it?
