If that's true that it's really 100fg then there appears to be some sorta disconnect between mediators and the mod team.

Weird that two different mods would say originally that there's not then one of them says there is. One of them is a senior moderator which says there's not.

There appears to be some sort of disconnect and maybe in the past there wasn't the 100 minimum and the mods aren't even aware that it was changed.

Go try to request a mediator. Put less than 100 gold. Come back and share your findings

Also, I was right, we both are technically. It's only d2r that has that restriction for 100 fg minimum. You can get any amount minimum anywhere else on the site except the built in d2r mediation tool.

You dont get a warning for requesting a mediator lol tf. It doesnt even get to them, because like I said, you cant request a mediator for less than a hundred.

Regarding the rest of your post, while it may be accurate, its irrelevant here because op specifically stated hes here to use d2r

One note, I used to be a mediator and if someone Pm'd me about mediating something under 100fg I would have still done it, it just wouldn't have gone through the queue.

1. To your discretion. The wait time can be annoying though, and will make users who don't want to wait just avoid the trade. Generally, if someone has a good amount of posts and fg, they aren't going to scam you. If you're trading 1k fg worth of items, there is always a chance someone could scam you but highly unlikely it will happen if you were to just give the items first.

2. Auctions really aren't a good way to sell things. You're better off just setting a reserve price at x amount of time, then set a bin price as well.
