I'd like to start using this site for d2r and i want to do things properly. I have two questions:

I'm afraid of being scammed, but I don't want to bother the team unnecessarily. At what price in fg is it considered acceptable to contact a mediator?

Also im not very familiar with the prices and would prefer to put the items up for auction, what is considered an auction duration acceptable ?

Using a mediator is completely normal on d2jsp and you’re never “bothering” the team by asking for one.
You can set the auction duration directly in the topic, and if you don’t know the prices you can also use the Price Check section.

Mediators don’t care if they’re mediating for 5fg or 50,000fg. It’s still a mediation none the less.

The amount is subjective. The safest way to trade on d2jsp is by using a mediator.

Also, timeframes in auctions are subjective as well. Whatever you feel is a good time frame. You might put 10 minute auction and get zero hits, but want to continue to try and sell the item.

There's actually a 100fg minimum requirement for mediators. You cant request one unless its at this threshold

I find that searching for similar items is a good way to get a general idea of how to price things. Otherwise, just post what you have(be as detailed as possible) and wait for offers.

Untrue. You can request a mediator for any amount of fg... Senior moderator confirmed this as well.

Use a mediator to be safe if you'd like.

I can confirm that if you click Request a Mediator and the FG is less than 100, you get an error and cannot request a mediator.

I even made a post about it a few years ago and got shot down pretty hard
