Trumps actions horrify but don’t surprise me. The raving madness of self-appointed “friends of Ukraine” prepared me for that. Doesn’t matter if many or most of them are against Trump. The culture of unrepentant, immoral grift permeates the political conversation today. It culminates in Trump, but they have all made their contribution to this madness.
the odd part is warmongers dont usually get elected on a platform of peace and no new wars. the republican party has been filled with people just itching for new wars for decades, well before the 2nd iraq war. for perhaps the worst american war to come from a regime elected to not start even new small conflicts is a disgusting display of how much the military industrial complex and israel lobbies have captured washington.
the only silver lining is that trump is such an abrasive figure that many dems will be anti-war, unlike iraq and afganistan where only a few were and got shouted down quickly.
