Fallibility that your god created us to have.
We aren't purely rational agents with perfect/ultimate agency.
I said we too are slaves to instinct. I did not say just slaves to instinct.
God created us with the ability to choose, this is not inherent fallibility. We freely chose to stray away, which caused said destruction, decay, and literal damage to the human nature. Christ healed humanity by assuming it and, through theosis, synergized fallen human nature we all share to the divine life. Through free will we can freely choose to accept His grace and align our energia with His. This is the normative ontological healing to the fallen human nature, a choice every single person has to freely choose. Grace is given mysteriously in cases where He chooses to, I cannot say who is healed and who isn't.
nobody said we are perfect rational agents, we are damaged due to the fall.
if you admit we aren't just slaves to instinct, then you’ve conceded the argument. a slave with the power to say 'no' to his master (sin) isn't a slave, he’s a free agent. The angels rejoice in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance
