Is there any value to this for folks that wanna maximize gf? I saw a 40mf magic ring sell for 800 fg the other day on this forum. Feedback appreciated.

40% extra gold magic ring drops all the time, zero value
magic find magic ring, they drop until 25% mf, but sometimes they come doble roll, so it can spawn from 30 to 40, and max is 40, they are extremely special and i never found one myself in almost 5 years of D2R, i found multiple 33, 35, 36 , 37, but never a 40% one, and i make rank 1 leaderboard just to you understand that i can play a lot.

thats why those 40% magic find rings worth 1000fg each. cheap price this season cuz of the hype on WARLOCK, because they was worth more on the past.

I'm going to explain a little more than others.

Rare rings can spawn a maximum of 15% mf. This is because some mods can spawn on Magic items only, so they will not spawn on rares (specifically, Fortune, explained below, cannot spawn on rare rings, but Fortuitous, also explained below, can). Depending on other mods, a rare ring with 15% mf can be pretty good (since rares roll up to 6 mods, you could have 15% mf plus up to 5 other potential mods like fcr, str, dex, life, resists, etc., that might make it worthwhile).

If your goal is pure mf, you can get higher mf than a rare ring a few ways, however. Cheapest/easiest option is a 30% Nagelring. The only thing that beats Nagelring is a magic ring (which can have up to two mods), but the magic ring actually takes both mods to beat a Nagelring. That's why it's called a Fortuitous Ring of Fortune, the ring rolls both Fortuitous prefix and Fortune suffix, but those prefixes/suffixes actually have a range. Fortuitous rolls between 11-15% and Fortune rolls between 16-25%. So a Fortuitous Ring of Fortune can actually range from 27-40%. Now we see that the magic ring not only has to roll both of those modifiers together, but it has to also roll both modifiers at maximum to get 40%.

Your gf ring, on the other hand, is only one modifier. Greed rolls between 26-40%, so sure, yours rolled max. But the thing is a rare ring can also spawn up to 40% gf, which means any rare ring with gf can tie yours, plus can have up to 5 other modifiers, making yours entirely worthless.

Any questions just let me know.

Ty man, I did realize one error in my explanation. Fortuitous doesn't spawn on rare rings, haha. For rare rings it's actually Chance, which rolls between 5-15% mf. Woops.
