Aye, but one slot in cube isn't the end of the world even tho I do agree with you. I suppose if you do run with a rare ring or amu then TK can make it so you don't need a swap.
My point was mainly just for those that get stuck now and then for some reason. Should be super rare to get stuck anyway.
This whole thing should never have to be something to think about. Never gotten stuck like that and I've played my fair share.
Getting a TK ring would only be valid in a game under Ritual or not perm game, you sharded Act and cleared only 1/2 areas.
And even then, remembering this can happen, I would rather take 3 more seconds to be careful/walk back to town, than carry a ring only meant to save me from a 1 in 10 000 situation.
Unless I actually have an almost same rare ring as the one I'm using (given I'm using one) then may swap it to use it but even then it seems like unnecessary hustle.
I personally don't clear Spider forest from WP anyways and walk it because WP makes you go sideways, first to town and then towards Great Marsh/Flayer Jungle or the opposite. Same goes with Flayer, I start from LK and go down the jungle which avoids the backtracking and such.
