I need to unlock the Lycia bloodline to finish my build.

As I understand it's gated behind defeating her in the Forbidden Sanctum.

I am a complete noob to sanctum and the only few times I've tried running it I've failed miserably. Also my build cannot kill bosses that aren't surrounded by monsters (BV herald stacker).

Is is technically possible to get carried to that boss? How so?

Yep, and not sure about specifics of Sanctum, but you probably should stay behind and not get hit

they will invite you to join the final boss fight.
you enter the area, don‘t move, they‘ll phase the boss while you‘re in grace period.
