The Houston Rockets officially clinched a playoff spot with the Phoenix Suns losing. So it's playoff time now!

At the moment the Rockets are in a 4 vs. 5 matchup with the Nuggets. And Denver has the home court advantage.
I'd prefer a Rockets vs. Lakers first round. Kind of hoping Minnesota passes us again for the 5th seed to be honest.

But the Timberwolves lost at Detroit tonight to remain in the 6th seed. A healthy Minnesota team can beat the Lakers I feel.

If the Houston Rockets had Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams I'd feel good about making a deep run. I'm still optimistic though.

The Houton Rockets have six games left starting tonight against the Utah Jazz. Trying to pass Denver for the 4th seed.
I'm not really sure how important home court advantage is. Denver will be so tough to beat in a 7-game series anyway.

I've seen the Rockets lose their last two playoff series when they played a Game 7 in Houston. Home court is overrated.
A real championship team can win road playoff games. Like the 1995 Houston Rockets. Won the NBA Title as a 6th seed.

Everybody on all the sports shows are already predicting an OKC Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs 2026 Western Conference Finals.

A part of me is hoping the Rockets can advance past Denver in the first round and then stun the Spurs in the second round. LOL

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is out indefinitely due to a left hamstring injury, sources tell me and @mcten. He will miss the remainder of the regular season and his status is uncertain beyond that.

Wow. Should the Rockets lose a few of these final six games and finish in the 6th seed just to play the Lakers?
If Luka has a bad hamstring that's huge. Chris Paul had the same issue in the 2018 Western Conference Finals.

In an intense playoff series that hamstring can give out at any moment. Luka would likely play even worse defensively if he plays.

I'm stressing a little bit about the Rockets facing Denver in the first round. Minnesota will want the 6th seed instead of 5th now.

I didn't even consider the strong possibility that the Denver Nuggets can actually pass the Lakers for the third seed. Their odds of doing so just increased dramatically. Creating a 4 vs. 5 Lakers vs. Rockets first-round series. So the Rockets may end up playing the Lakers in the first round anyway. Either way I'll just enjoy the playoffs. Not like I have any real expectations. I'm just going to watch the game and enjoy it.
