Hey dubstepmammoth, thanks for the really kind post. It seriously made my entire day. I'm at working smiling with a really big grin, just knowing how nice you were being. I fre*king love this community and the people in it.

Users like you ^bQQ ^Dolphy ^KillerAngel ^Winpyth are just so intelligent, so thoughtful and always so helpful she people need help in here.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and no offense (really don't mean it like that), but I think all of you should try out Diablo 3. It's an arcade style game and I think you'd like it a lot.

Have an absolutely wonderful day!

haha thank you I hope you have a wonderful day too, what a kind and thoughtful recommendation I am a hardcore arcade gamer (haha level up!!) so maybe this will be right up my alley as the kids say. I can’t wait to see how blizzard thoughtfully and skillfully improved on the diablo 2 formula and I bet it’ll be the same game but better! i am grinning ear to ear just imagining all the fun I’ll have playing my favorite classes in Diablo 3 bravo blizzard!

skill issue

I took the time to test (and cross) all the following variables:
- gold pile dropped by player | gold pile dropped by monster
- no active filter | gold pile unfiltered | gold pile filtered
- nothing pressed | "Show Items" key pressed | "Show Items (Unfiltered)" key pressed
- item pickup enabled through /nopickup | item pickup disabled through /nopickup

The results seem consistent.
Basically, auto pick up always succeeds, except in the following 2 cases:
- The pile was dropped by a player (on purpose, haven't tested upon death).
OR
- Item pickup was disabled through /nopickup AND no item text reveal key is currently being pressed.

So technically, having a filter active or not doesn't change anything, at least on my PC.

unless I accidentally dropped my steamdeck down the stairs and it bouncing down each step methodically opened up the on screen keyboard, hit the right trigger, typed in /nopickup, hit the right trigger again, and then ricocheted back up the stairs, back onto my night stand, all with no physical damage and without me noticing and it does this every game I create I unfortunately don’t think this is my issue.

I can disable the gold piles under hiding and the pickup goes back to working normally, stops again if the piles under setting is re-enabled, consistent across games, auto gold pickup enabled, don’t have max gold feelsbadman

thank you for being invested in my plight

At least we now know the bug is related to the machine running the game.

To clarify, when you have an active "hide" gold rule, auto pickup doesn't work for both filtered and unfiltered piles?
EDIT 1 : My bad, just saw you already mentioned it affects filtered piles only.

EDIT 2 : It would be interesting to see if the bug is still present when you set a "show" gold rule instead.

Yeah a show rule still shows everything since there’s nothing hiding the lower amounts of gold lol
