To be honest, if you're going the fade route you don't need to worry about that + fade helps with all the physical damage as well.

And the other posts are right, fade is definitely a crutch and makes it slower overall, but it's mainly for your first few clears until you're absolutely used to doing Ubers and eventually you can just do all 3 at once, but for your first few clears, do stuff like lifetap wand (btw Mephisto is VERY fast so make sure to cast it on him as soon as you can then swap to your grief/hoz immediately). Once you have life tap up and you're smiting mephisto, there is no way for you to die, especially with fade up. Salvation will slow down your smiting a lot and will make your healing from life tap much slower, so I can't vouch for salvation being a good strategy or not.

You definitely have enough advice to be able to kill them now your next try

Do you use any skill for movement to close the gap on meph once life tap is cast?

Nope, he's so fast that he'll walk up right within walking distance to you usually. With a successful lure he'll basically be right next to you. If for some weird reason he doesn't come right up to you, just keep luring him further back towards the north houses and you'll eventually get him within melee without having to run up to him. But usually you want to try to get within melee distance of him asap after you've life tapped him with your wand, because when he's ranged is when he casts all his most dangerous stuff. He's an absolute wimp at melee range. But you'll definitely be okay with fade and/or salvation.

Probably what would work perfectly is just walk in with fade + salvation to lure him + life tap on him and then you can just switch to fanaticism and nuke him down, since you don't need fade AND salvation... But having both on for your first Uber clear to be safe and cautious wouldn't be a bad decision. Don't feel bad about using every single + resistance + way to stack yourself up to be a tank on your first clear.

Thank you and everyone else for the help. I just shredded Ubers. Once I get comfortable should I always use the life tap wand, or just proc fade?

Glad to hear it brother. That's all up to you, if you're comfortable enough in the future. If you're willing to test if salvation is enough resist versus Mephisto then you can see if you can skip fade or not. And the life tap wand is always handy, honestly.

Tell us how it went!
