its bugged, but this video by goomshill shows that ed% previously on an item before socketing the bugged jewel is still working.

Axe dmg:
66-70

500%ed on shield, and 30str = 6.3 multiplier

66*6.3‎ = 415,8
70*6.3‎ = 441

Dmg shown on screen:
415-441

Now add 1-2 dmg…
67-72

67x6.3‎ = 422,1
72x6.3‎ = 453,6

Dmg shown on screen:
422-453

But if the extra 1%ed forms he jewel worked?
72x6.31‎ = 454,32

We would see max dmg 454, but we see 453, so it’s bugged.

So you believe that bc the game screen did not show the effect of 1% ED, it must be still bugged, versus the fact that it was silly to choose a jewel that only had 1% Ed rather than 50% so it could show a difference larger than rounding error?

This is the easy part to prove. We can notice absolutely no difference in the health lost by the quill rat if we add an edited +1000%ed 1min 2max jewel in that shield.
If it wasn't bugged, it should ~triple the dmg (1500ed instead of 500).
This was the original test, the easy one.
The harder part was what I posted above, to show that ed% added before the bug stays unbugged.

also I did a quick test and showed: the % ed on the jewel itself is discarded and has no effect, both on displayed char screen damage and actual damage
its just the %ed on the shield itself that isn't being removed here
so if you socket a 115% ed ars meph with a 50% ed protector's stone, it will display 165% ed and +10-30 damage, but it will actually be 115% ed and +10-30 damage, and the char screen damage will still match what your char actually deals, only the item itself will display wrong

so once again %ed on protector's stone is a pretty irrelevant stat, because it ONLY works when socketed in a weapon

same test as above, just changed jewel to a 500% ed / 1-2 damage jewel. Shield displayed 1000% damage, but my attack damage was still ~450, and I was still dealing about the same % of enemy hp

I can confirm the above, I tested it too.

Can I see a video of that? This is exactly what I told him to do, but he said the hero editor didn't let him

the bug that always applies to the jewel, and the one aspect that is always discussed, is that the ed never applies due to there also being min and max dmg on it

not sure why you're trying to weasel your way out of paying up by focusing on a different and largely irrelevant fringe aspect of the bug

Because you're clearly exercising your ability to selectively read (or reading to ur maximum limited capacity). The fact that the 1% ED on that video was 1 dmg off of calculated is not proof that the ED% is bugged. D2 has always rounding these values oddly. Show it not working for a 50% ED

I don't personally use hero editor, which is why i offered to pay for someone to make a video.

You don't have to use it, I used it for you.
Drop this file in your saved game folder, go to single player, you'll have a lvl 99 warlock with a dagger a 1os buckler and a 500ed 1min 2max jewel in inventory ready to try.
Hit some mobs without the jewel, then add the jewel.
You can't doubt it if you try it yourself.

edit:

I made the dagger 100-100 to make sure you have constant dmg
here's the new link:
https://files.fm/u/y456tc3jkr

after socketing the jewel in shield, you'll get 101-102 dmg
not only on character screen, but clearly the only a very minimal +1-2 dmg vs mobs too
