Playing single player SSF ROTW on nintendo switch, so can't trade for gear, but I have my main char echoing strikes lock in full horazons with eth shilleagh insight, (55k dmg 75 fcr 200 mf max res) finally found soj for anni, and found 2 SUR so far. Want engima, so looking for Jah. Don't really want to run LK superchests and would be feelsbad cubing 2 bers for a jah... (would save for self weild nova infinity anyways) and I am getting tired of chaos runs on the lock and want to switch it up. I've done a few full game p5 4200 mf souls trick terroized playthroughs, killed so many heralds, and no sunder of any kind has dropped. Can do ubers for torches but havent tried the new ancients stuff yet. So thats kinda where I am at.

I am mainly considering building a horker barb for p1 trav so I can maybe get lucky with a Jah, plus I also need a few more socket quests so I need to create a new char anyways.

I really don't want to play berserk, I dont want to mana potions as its annoying on the switch, and I want to just leech my way to victory. I am thinking some kind of frenzy/ww. Was thinking about using the reapers toll myself but the cold damage will pop many corpses, right?
I guess could you build a budget horker barb that can do p1 + popping more fficient than a full horazons p8 warlock with no popping? IDK. Either way I need socket quests so just exploring opportunities here.

Can't do oath yet but could farm a bunch of countess first for a mal and then do oath/lawbringer?

Any suggestions?

if you are after runes, WW >>>> Zerk all the way. Zerk is good at stacking MF while not losing kill speed (sorry not sorry MF haters), but Trav does not feel good as Zerk honestly.
WW feels good in Trav. More comfy, and most likely faster than Zerk too.

Oath/Lawbringer will do but Grief just can't be beaten. If you find a Lo I suggest you invest in a Grief.

For the Reapers Toll, it WILL pop some corpses, but not MANY of em.
Every time you will see a corpse "frozen explode" you will think "ARGHHH"... gotta make the calcs, but the time you gain with Reapers might more than make up for the "time loss" of popped corpse.

Not gonna lie, using reapers toll with whrilwind would be nice. I guess maybe it would pop the same amount of mobs as a lightbringer offhand too right?
Could get a might merc with eth obidience, crown of theives, and guaradian angel.

Would save me a socket quest and having to farm mal/pul off countess...

Not gonna lie if i ever find a Lo rune I am going to save it for an eth ogre/thunder maul fortitude for echoing strikes whenever I get enigma ill swap off insight and use fort



Oh yeah I forgot about that sword. Is it good? Dread fang? Offhand or mainhand? Frenzy or ww? It doesn't have cold damage!!

I put it on a bash a5 merc, his BC over writes it sometimes but still makes things faster for sure

So you think with my gear I should do a WW barb with Reapers toll and use A5 bash merc with that sword?
Or WW reapers toll with obedience might merc?

Or frenzy barb using some combination of amp sword/lightsabre/oath eth bb and reapers toll merc?

And yea, I don't really care about MF on this char, the only items I really care to find now are facets/soj/arachs most just want runes

Tbh man I just went right to a grief + grief, now I have grief and last wish offhand and dreadfang on my a5 bash merc. P1 trav is like 10 seconds or less, p8 maybe like 15-20 seconds at most

You have enough FG for a Lo id send it like that man.

Also don’t use a raven you will explode more bodies, use thrangs belt or the new horizon shoes for can’t be frozen


You can’t use the amp sword on frenzy barb it’s a 2 handed for them so I use an eth one with a random guardian jewel in it on a a5 bash merc


I can even farm p8 tz and he can kill most Herolds, throw down a grimward and seperate it from his pack and ww his ass while ur merc amps him super easy.

Oh lol my bad lol well then that’s a whole new ball game ahaha

If you get a Lo, make a Grief. Eth fort weapon is used by one build, ES Lock, but Grief PB is the best weapon in the game for every other melee build. You can run so many other builds with Grief than eth TM fort. And this isn't even considering insight is superior to fort anyway for ES.

If you get 3 Ber, cube two into Jah and don't look back. Enigma is the best armor in the game for virtually every build, and you will be finding more stuff faster with Enigma. Don't feel bad about it at all. At ALL.

You don't want to be holding Reaper, that's for the merc. You want to be using the Oath sword. The corpses shatter when the killing blow is the one that freezes. All reaper is for is spreading decrep very quickly, ideally is low ED/non eth so less likely your merc is stealing kills -and shattering corpses.
