Really proficient English speakers don't fall into the "it's not this, it's that" and constant emdash-use camp. Also it all depends on what AI he's using and if he's constantly typing to it and given it information like those phrases.

I use AI to translate from my language to English because English isn’t close to my first language. I’m just using it to write a response so you don’t have to try and figure out the incoherent gibberish I’d type if I tried in English. If that bothers you, then I apologize.

Using it to translate your text doesn't bother me, but you're clearly having it write your points for you. If you were being honest about it, I wouldn't have even given you shit for having bad grammar or whatever. But to me it looks extremely obvious you're telling AI what I'm typing and saying "please come up with good counterpoint to this" and it spits out those replies. I'd much rather you type what you're going to say and then say "please translate this into English and don't add anything onto it", but that's clearly not what you're doing.



Yeah, fortunately for us LLMs are not able to type like a "regular human" yet without specific prompt tweaking and most people don't even bother.

Why would I use AI to try to write my points for me? its not like I am asking it to write me a thesis about cosmological expansion, its D2R ?! So instead of using AI to properly get my message across in English, I should reply to your message in broken English? Why would I do that? If I want to get a point across quickly, I want to do it quickly — why shouldn’t I?

I can’t believe I’m arguing with someone over why I use AI to translate my messages into English. Using AI to translate between languages doesn’t make the intended message redundant — the purpose in this case is valid. But let’s agree to disagree. Stacking mobs at the cow portal is, in my opinion, still engineered griefing, and trying to defend it as hardcore risk is wrong. And like you said, it’s here to stay, but I can just keep reporting every player who abuses it.
