I still think it is a stupid mechanic.
Last night I dropped my first sunder on P3 multiboxx on T4 Herald.
And it was thru horking with my BO Barb who also happens to hork when I kill a Herald.
Prior to Heralds I was just a regular solo P1 player, making 1 game every 3 minutes.
Now I just make a game and leave my fillers in, if it is a TZ boss I will leave them in and have my 200fcr Light sorc rush for statue, while my game with T5 heralds stays active, and then I can come back to it with my Hdin.
All this is a lot of work, but not only that.
I still think the fact that you have to get through Herald Tiers up to 4 to get Desecrated is stupid.
To me an item you're chasing should be able to drop on first mob kill, given you are at least in alvl high enough.
Torches ? Yeah you cant drop em on first mob kill. But if you farm for mats to get torch, this is possible to get on first kill. And once you have the keys, everything (organs, unique large charm) are 100% guaranteed.
Same goes with Anni. You have to farm your way up in SP to a SoJ, and on Bnet well it is a bit different but still you can target farm and have a first kill give you mats.
With Heralds, you can get a first kill to pop an Ire draw, OK. Then you have to discover map. As you pointed out Blake, it is another advantage for Eni/Sorc users. Once you spaw the ire, you kill him, and get ridiculous Sunders odds on T1-2-3. So you can drop it but the game is designed for you to get to T4-5 to have actual odds. Which means the game is designed for you to play extensive amounts of time in order to hope for a Sunder.
I am not against rarity. It is what I enjoy about this game.
It is the wall that they added, or rather the whole staircase.
I enjoy launching the game, playing 1 game, getting a cool item or not, and closing the game. From time to time. As much as I can play for 15h straight and get almost the same results, or even better value with only 3mins of gameplay.
Herald system makes this almost impossible. (Almost yeah...)
I feel overly incentivized to multiboxx which I did not before, or not as much. You guys pointed out the fact that pubs are not a good place to farm this, I agree. Aswell as nobody wants to farm in a group for this.
Personally, I dont want to kill 2 elites per minute lets say, while a dude will kill only 1 per minute in my game, I draw the ire, he gets the herald, then gets the sunder. Lol. Seems pretty stupid to me especially if I am faster at killing elites.
About the Renewed charms being too op, I dont think they are. They give more power to builds but if you were to compare the charms to builds like mosaic or warlock, it just feels like a stat stick which also gives sunder immune.
I forgot about this but you reminded me of the fact of how powerful loading other accounts into a game is now. I mean it was strong before due to just giving yourself a p7 item bonus, but now with sunders you can get a steady supply of them with no competition via multiboxing. And despite the fact that you're basically playing solo you are more than 8x more likely to get a sunder charm compared to a solo player. That's a really stupid design and heavily favors botters/bot loaders.
