The exercise was for you to put yourself in the shoes of a skeptic or someone who never encountered religion or god/s concept and to figure out which of the 1000 religions are authentic (if any).
And your first thought was to believe in god without even meeting any of the stalls. Not only that you walked around the market with predefined criteria how gods and their followers should behave. This is complete confirmation bias. You were not open to hearing the beliefs or figuring out what the truth might actually be. You came to project your own beliefs and reject anything that didn't align with your own thinking.
Now if you had any self reflection you would conclude that you are a close minded individual who weren't able to set aside your personal beliefs even as a thought exercise. Some would call that a cult like behavior.
I don't believe in god simply because there is no valid reason for me to think he is real. Why would I believe in something first without proof? That makes 0 sense. I am not a cultist who is going to brainwash myself just because someone asked me. Provide proof then we can talk, if not then gtfo grifter.

There are plenty of valid reasons to believe in God. You are still dead in your sins and you cannot save yourself.
