Its easy enough to explain it doing the 'wrong damage' since its often miscalculated by people, since they think its listing base damage on the skill when its already factoring in %ed from the skill. I'd imagine the real damage value syncs up with calculated damage
but as far as going through bone armor there's some fuckery afoot
the difference of 257 vs 271 vs 423 hp lost can't be just the ratio from it using bearsmite and hitting straight to HP each time with glitched displayed-but-nonfunctional bone armor, because just +135% ed from smite won't make that kind of difference on a bear hitting enough to deal ~2850+ damage per hit without it.

I've never looked at the code for bone armor close, is there some chance its got a weird clause where the animated 3 armor sections surrounding you are more than just indicators, maybe its a cap of dr per section per damage instance and overflow damage over a third of the armor seeps through?
never tested it, but dunno what else explains it. Its not like they added some secret cold damage on the spirit wolf synergy, because even if they made a silent change it would have visible cold effect / chill on hit.
Its not a crushing blow, its dealing more damage than that, if your %dr is accurate.

something definitely changed on the bear end as the dmg goes through bone armor when the knockback occurs and not every hit
you can see the first hit in the video does way more dmg than the hit at 16 seconds that doesnt trigger kb

its possible bear smite is being replaced by regular smite and the ed is double dipping?

If it was just smite dealing extra %ed or whatever, the bone armor would be fully removed and damage spills over
KB is still 50:50 for smite so you can know it was a smite attack on every attack that knockbacked but can't know if a non-knockback attack wasn't, I mean you can just look at animation and listen to sound effect and length of the animation to know for sure though

but yeah its got to be something weird with the bear smite skill on the back end that's spilling over damage. And its not just crushing blow being added unless this guy has different %dr than he claims, because a 3326 hp char with 46% dr should lose ~179 hp to a cb. Although if the druid has a -10% bone break maybe it could be 36% dr after pierce, so ~213 lost? Still losing way more than that.
there's nothing in any patch notes about bears being changed.

cb goes through bone armor but iirc bear only has like 5% so no way thats it, that must be a bug
