a lot, but we also have a somewhat stable imports vs exports ratio when compared to Japan. if you're a massive net importer though like Japan is/was it can be a HUGE issue. you need money on hand to import goods or you starve, then money gets scarce, and the currency ratio can't keep up because it's partially based on your total supply and not just how much is liquid.
i know china also massive invests in US and Canadian real estate, they likely want to for political reasons though as much as economic ones. the govt can't seize a property in Vancouver.
Yup, there are those that via the Chinese government arm that does it for political reasons.
That being said, most of them just invest in it because a lot of them still believe that
Western Style Education is best for their kidsI have been helping this property group in Manhattan move funds for their Chinese clients because they build like blocks and blocks of upmarket Condos just for the Chinese.
Most of their Kids goes to Columbia or NYU.
It is not the most expensive apartments in NY, but they about 3.5 to 6M USD per unit. I think considering New York's price that is actually slightly above average or average ?
About 700 to 1500 SQ Feet per Unit.
That being said, the Indians and the Punjabis do have political aspiration in the Western Hemisphere especially Canada.
If you notice this interesting trend between the Chinese ( East Asians which also includes the Taiwanese, Hong Kongers and to a certain extent Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese) and the Indians.
The East Asians will actually go back to their " motherland " but the Indians, they come..they will never leave.
The Koreans and Japanese are less likely to stay as compared to the Chinese as I mentioned above. Because they just don't feel familiar with the environment even after decades.
It is harder for the Japs and the Koreans to truly integrate ( Not in a bad way like the Sunni Muslims.) Japs and Koreans still prefer their hometowns.
Hong Kongers , Singaporean and Malaysian Chinese can easily integrate because as you know we are ex colonies and in the Commonwealth. So we are brought up closer and easier to integrate in that sense.
Our Education system is based on British O Levels and A levels.
Try to notice the trend.
