im far from an imperialist but no other nation should get the petrodollar. their economies and markets are too volatile. The USA is the only nation with a stable enough economy to smooth our fluctuations and correct itself. in times like this imagine if not only the price was wildly fluctuating, but the underlying currency was also fluctuating. the shock to the market would be too much to bear. i hate quantitative easing, but it does stable out the currency. it's always slowly inflating, same as the market, same as the economy.
