Yo guys

I been building myself a BO barb and chant sorc.
Keeping CTA on swap as a Hdin seems useless,
And I wanna use this free spot to have a Smiter-ready build, for the painful ultra tanky / magic resist or immune heralds. (No I do not have enough -magic enemy res yet to comfortably stay with Hammers vs tanky Immunes and even with -50% I doubt it is enough).

I want to be able to "just swap" whenever I see a herald that would take too long with hammers.

I am thinking either Last Wish or Grief, with for shield HoZ or Exile for LW and Exile only if I go Grief because no Life Tap proc. And most likely more HoZ than Exile if I go LW.

I know Grief has no contest for usual smiter dmg, but this is different and I have no CB whatsoever, and this is why I am thinking of Last Wish in this situation.

Anyone has tried this out before ? Any insights ?

Thanks to whoever will take time.

Just swapping to grief is not going to do enough damage to efficiently clear them. You need cb

That being said, this is probably only going to marginally increase your total dps vs just using your merc for damage

Last wish + exile vortex shield should be enough.

As it's been mentioned, clear speed will be rough though with only a 1 point.

I might try it, looking at the stream the other day made me curious,
But I actually like Hdin's gameplay, even if I know a lot of people think it is stupid I think it has more challenges than what people usually picture.

Will always be better than Smite with Hoto/Void + Spirit or raw OG Sunders on W2 Baal x)

Yeah thats why LW seemed like the obvious stuff for such a setup.

Thx for your answers yall

For 1 point in fanat + weapon swap,

I believe last wish will be the most valuable single-way swap. CB & life tap + fade & PMH (if that's needed)

The shield slot will be the same as any uber smiter, as it comes down to preference/need.
upped HoZ ber'd for a well-rounded shield (dmg, resistance, dr)
st spirit for resistance (budget friendly)
st exile for lifetap and defence (probably not needed if you have lw and shout from the bo barb)
st phoenix for dmg (and redemption)

My vote would be st phoenix.
bonus usage: spin to kill skeletons then swap to phoenix + fanat to redeem while fighting Unravellers
