tldr: works if you socket it in ars meph, doesn't work if you socket it in items that don't already have %ed
/e and didn't show it in video but barb obviously hits for ~1/6 the damage when I took off the shield and attacked, the null case


why didn't you make the shield start off with 1% ED and the jewel have like 1000% ED and +1 dmg, just to see if the 1000% ED works?

too lazy to test all permutations, and there are arbitrary parameter caps in d2 so you can't just give stuff +99 skills or +1000 min/max damage
its very clearly not dealing 2x the damage with the jewel in shield for 500->1000%

i believe the glitch was that if the jewel has +dmg and +%ED, then when socketed in nonweapon, the +%ED gets ignored, and you only have the +dmg. If that is in fact the bug, then having the jewel have both an insignificant +dmg and +%dmg doesn't show whether those affixes work, but it does show that it didn't completely break the shield

I wasn't.
Your original question was to know if the bug triggers when the jewel destination is a shield, and it definitely does.
And yes, only the ED on the jewel that triggered the bug can become ignored as a consequence (thanks
Goomshill
for the time taken to confirm).

For the record, when it comes to that bug, there's a special case.
If the bug is triggered by min+ED OR max+ED, the ED is actually completely functional when using ranged attacks.
The cherry on top is that the char stats window says it isn't.
2 separate bugs at work here =]

so i got a +2warlock/20fcr/2os rolled => wanted to put a Protectors Stone into it and a 40ed/9str juwel ...

i can save it right? the problem on the protectors is not the "Enhanced Damage", the PROBLEM is the Adds 10-30 Damage, right?

If you decide to do that, just be sure to put the 40|9 first, otherwise the 40ED on it will be ignored.
Also, i assume there is no min|max regular mod on the 2/20/2 item itself.

y its a blue 2/20/2os circlet with no other adds, BUT if i do the 40/9 FIRST and then the Protectors Stone => The stone STILL has the "added 10-30" damage on it and buggs it then and dont adds the 48ED from the Protectors stone itself?

Yes, the ED on the stone is f****d no matter what (as long as the target is not a weapon).
And in the case of your circlet, the ED on the blue jewel is f****d as well, but only if it's inserted after the stone.

to get it right... i JUST can put temporarily 2 x 39ED/adds juwel in that (no protectors)., THIS will work, right?

It depends what the "adds" are, and in which order you put the jewels.
That bug affects all jewels, and is not specific to the protector's stone.
