It is common knowledge there are ban waves every once in a while.

I doubt it honestly. During past banwaves it was kind of insane how instantly the entire forum basically died off for trading. It makes sense as you'd only have to have 4 legit accounts or so especially with stacking, but how do you automate the muling process? I think laziness is where it comes along, though I don't think that blizzard detecting the bot AND mule bot would be very likely if they were separate entities.
