Finally had some free time so I tested it out myself. The only character I have up and running is a warlock, so it kind of sucks to unsummon my fiend, and kill my merc.. but, that’s the only way to do the ritual.
I did the trick, and then terrorized each act one by one. The magic find difference was very notable, in Act 1 alone I checked off two grail items(Spirit keeper & Death Cleaver). I also noticed a lot more elite magic items, which made me a lot of dough with Charsi. Killed 8 heralds overall, each one dropped two uniques, as expected no sunder.
For many years I played single player P8, so the P1 drops on ladder have been lackluster- but I will say, P1 after the soul ritual had drops a lot more reminiscent of P8.
I know this ritual has been around forever, but you’re actually the on who put me on to it with your thread the other day, so thanks for that. Have played this game since I was like 13, so I was stoked to stumble upon something I didn’t know about the game. I think if I’d do this every game if I didn’t start the season with a Warlock. I feel like barbarian or javazon could take full advantage the most easily.
