No I've had dual set item drops on Dia or Meph.
I think this is a Legacy thing and does not exist on D2R anymore,
Either that or it has never existed, but I would lean towards Legacy =/= D2R. And pretty sure it was only for set items, not uniques.

Pretty sure sets can drop multiples but unq is one per game. So if you get a nightwing and another spired helm drops it can only be veil of steel but don't quote me I'm often wrong about stuff

Yeah ure wrong I've had dual unique drops too.

i noticed i often drop multiple of the same item base in the same area or pack

like i'll do a chaos run and drop 3 lacquered plates, or kill an elite pack and drop 2 horned helmet etc

maybe it's just confirmation bias but i feel like it happens very often

True RND dont exist in gaming per now.
Which is why they use different inputs to alter drops.

1. Map seed (alter everything)
2. Locations visited (alters type of item dropped)
3. Number of items in inventory, cube, merc, stash, maby other stash tabs (alters type of item dropped, or stats, cant remember)
4. Number of players (alters ratio)
5. Number of summons (alters stats inside the item)
6. Time (probarly alter map seed)

So on singleplayer with fixed mapseed you can get the same rare item over and over again. (you need to drop something else so number of items remains the same)

The other day Diablo dropped me a unique and four rares. All four rares had self repair mod. One was eth but of course none were worth keeping.

I have noticed the same with runes. i had 2 or 3 drop close together, started killing everything close by and boom hr drops

it either drops or it doesn't, so 50:50
