The point I’m illustrating here is that during Jesus’ time, people were still waiting for the forerunner of the Messiah and the Messiah himself. Similarly, Jesus’ return and his forerunner, I believe that promise has already been fulfilled in the form of twin manifestations sent of God. Much of the Bible is not literal, especially prophecies like this are symbolic with very clear fruits to test the authenticity (other than the sky splitting open or earthquakes)
