If you had to come back as one animal, which would you choose — dog or cat?

I went with cat, and honestly it wasn’t even a hard decision. Cats seem like they’ve completely mastered the art of living. They sleep most of the day, wander around doing whatever they want, and somehow still get treated like royalty. No one expects them to fetch anything or impress anyone. If they feel like hanging out with you, they will. If not, they’ll disappear to a sunny window and nap for four hours.

Dogs seem like they have a good life too, but it also feels like a full-time job. Constant enthusiasm, always ready to go outside, always trying to please someone. Respect to that lifestyle, but it sounds exhausting.

As a cat, you basically wake up, stretch, judge everyone silently, knock something off a table, eat, then go back to sleep.

Hard to beat that life.

What did you pick and why?

My dog is damn spoiled, but until I got her she lived on the street and was abused and almost dead.

So am I a rez dog living off of garbage or am I a spoiled, pampered dog?

I think dogs get huge satisfaction out of what they do - especially working dogs. Theyre very fulfilled in doing their task and pleasing their master. My cat definitely wishes id pay attention to him as much as my dog, but he cant do the things my dog does. Form a much deeper bond with a dog.

A dog is a pack animal without a pack, and have humans as alternative, often being forced to be alone for 11hours every day

I would like to be:
wild dog > tame cat > wild cat > tame dog

I take care of 3 dogs that were left for dead.
Ones missing a leg from past abuse.
I give them everything I possibly can.
My cat is an ungrateful shitter, but I love him.
So Dog.

Weve had regular pet cats and we have several feral cats adopt us. Living in the barns or any structure catching mice.

I chose cat because i see a better chance of escaping an abusive home, if thats where i land.

Idk though, just depends.
