For context.. I've been enjoying a nova sorc build this ladder,
both with 200%fcr and now with 105% bp with a crescent moon main hand (eth merc infinity).

It occurred to me just now that a 6os main hand with 6x 5/5 light facets could be very cool.. Does anyone know
why this is not a thing? Why max roll suggests the crescent moon? is the -5 more to enemy light really worth more than +30% to damage as well?
CM doesn't have any other "useful" that I can tell mods other than maybe the small amount of maek...

That is a good point.. though Phoenix does still have other valuable features.

It's hard to wrap my head around an additional 2k nova damage not being worth while when only sacrificing -5 to enemy light lol

what's betta 200k dmg vs immune monster
or 100k dmg vs monster without immune

I would say 6x facet weapon > crescent moon weapon on a sorc for sure

6x 5/5 facets is a lot more expensive than Crescent Moon as well.

The +lightning damage adds onto Lightning Mastery, so it's less than you probably think it is as well. it comes to around 5% more damage with decent equipment.

Where as -5% lightning resistance is at minimum 5% of your damage. If the mob you are fighting still has 50 light resist after all deductions, an extra -5% is 10% more damage as example.

More or less it's about the price though. A single 5/5 facet is more expensive than Crescent Moon, let alone 6 of them, for relatively the same benefit.

You know I have never considered +lightning % in d2 that way
It is adding to my total % added rather than just a flat 30% when I equip the weapon.

Your explanation makes alot of sense, though 5/5 facets are shockingly cheap this Ladder lol, still 1 is more than a cm tho

This can work but it is of course sub optional
For example self weld infidity is better and we all know that coh eschupa jmode is the best in slut for the noba sox
But if u choose to run sub optional built it will still work. That is just how stronk this charactor is
I recomment the croissant moon as well (but only if u insist on running sub optinal)
It is well know that madroll has contribution fromn the best d2 players of all times like mrlama and microboitoy so its best to just listen to it

Just do the math on a sundered monster, you’ll see. It’s elementary school arithmetic.
