In the past you could receive a game invite from a player in that region and that would put you in said region. There was a change or something happened where even that work around was locked. And now all regions are region locked. There was a clip from blizzard forums that the issue has been fixed, but alas it truly has not.

Supposedly it only works for normal difficulty. I don't understand why that's the case but I do know you'll get an error if you try to cross join with nightmare and hell difficulty.

The frustrating part about this is that is means people on different regions are not able to play together as well as being unable to get help with ubers/clones if needed.

I've had people tell me it works on normal but I have an asian alt that cant join me even in normal games and have tried unsuccessfully with eu as well. It's incredibly frustrating.

On ps5 your d2r region is the same as your psn account region and you cant change it. All you can do is to create new account on other region and link it to your bnet account and you dont have to buy new copy of d2 on your new account. But you can do it once in 3 months. So if you go this way, you have to play 3 months with huge lags on other region.
Also you cant join any games on any difficulty in other region than yours.

Xbox can easily switch region as often as you like, all it takes is changing your location in settings and restarting console. I've been doing it this way since d2r launched.
