In terms of pure dps for jab. If you use eth fort and Andy's with 15% ias these are the numbers I got a while back using the max roll planner:

a2 might merc
eth fort
eth andy 15 ias/30fr

infinity eth 325%ed
#1 cv - 24,853 dps jab
#2 wp - 24,358 dps jab
#3 ghostspear/gpa/stygian - 23,805 dps jab
#4 gt - 23,495 dps jab
#5 thresher - 23,308 dps jab
#6 mancatcher - 22,917 dps jab

Not much difference tbh though and you might want to consider the point SinsOfTheSun was making.

Infinity on casters doesn't matter. You could even give scythe infinity to the merc. Chars who really need damage from merc like necro are better off with eth gt because no cure or other stuff is available.

Highest dps on necro was also calculated, it's obtained with GPA as the base dmg is increased by amp but not CB.
Wins in all cases, with lvl 9 fana from self-wield beast or not.

If you answered yes, then upgrading all your other items on your char should be a priority over investing fgs into a better infinity.

If you are effectively min/maxed and you want to also min/max your merc, then the difference in dps is so minimal in the end that you should prioritize the leech he gets from different bases.
Leech depends on flat dmg, not CB dmg.
And keep in mind that this is a fast paced game, moments where you let your merc stand there and jab multiple times in a row a very rare or inexistant. So it's not about dps, but about how much dmg he can deal with 1 jab, while the end of its attack animation is mostly gonna end up during your next tele, so it doesn't really matter if he attacked faster or not.

Assuming CoH + either Cure of FF (0ias setups)
GT will perform first jab attack at frame 5, 2nd one at frame 9
GPA, with higher base dmg, will perform those 2 attacks at the same frame
only the end of the animation lasts 1 frame longer, and this will get ignored 99% of the time
And mancatcher would perform the 2nd attack 1 frame sooner, at frame 8, but with way less base dmg, and most situations will allow the merc to perform the same amount of attacks (2 or even just 1) in the same time frame anyway.
So GPA is the best base.

On a necro with amp + beast

a2 might
andy cham
CoH

vs a 50% DR heph
including average CB dmg in the dps calc

perf sup eInfinity GPA
dps: 34,758
dps vs HF: 19,862

perf sup eInfinity GT
dps: 31,438
dps vs HF: 19,856

GPA wins the dps, HF/decrep or not.
But it wins it in a better way, cuz it deals more flat dmg, so more leech.

If I switch CoH for fort, GPA wins harder.
If you try really hard, you can probably come up with something that wouldn't make sense where GPA does not win.
But I prefer to always verify numbers on builds that make sense.

And I used a very high hp target to try to give the advantage to GT.
