optimizing for fg

so not asking like, what is the best place to farm runes/bases/uniques/etc. just purely what is the average highest fg output

In order I would vote:
TZ: high level unique and champion monsters, IMO this is the best
Chaos: quick to clear, severs unique monsters plus Diablo
Baal: you get the minions plus Baal
Mephisto: you only get one drop
Cows: great for farming hr, item bases, charms, etc…
Countness: I calculated this around 1fg per min of effort selling packs of lower rubes like ral, ort, thul, etc…

With that said you can make more fg per hour of effort buying and reselling in demand items on jsp. A single trade can net you hundreds or even thousands of fg in profit.

Finally buying fg is the fastest of all options. One days wage for a well paid professional is probably equivalent to 50k-100k fg. As an adult with a wife, kids, career, and a never ending list of things demanding my time all of the above options are just not possible.

I like Tzd Flayer, Tombs, Act IV, and Worldstone.

Reselling incorrectly priced items is one of the fastest ways to make fg, short of buying it.
I've made profits of 5k+ multiple times in single trades, e.g., a protector's stone that I bought for 2k and sold for 7.7.
Farming can't compete unless you're doing p7 solo or some kind of service.
Of course, actually playing the game is the most fun (for me at least). I just trade when I need fg for some shiny gear.

In the current meta, I think full game tz clears (herald farming) is probably the most profitable strat. Profits scale very well with higher player count, so multiboxing is necessary to see some real fg. You get lots of uniques that are easy to sell like the unique tomes and an occasional sunder for a nice extra chunk.

Been farming bosses; Andy, Meph, Baal, & Diablo when terrorized for statues. Andy has been the most worthless boss, and I actually had stopped Andy before as it was a waste of time. Meph has given me the most uniques, Diablo has given me the most sets.

If I spend 30 minutes doing Meph runs when Terrorized I walk away with more than I get doing just a regular TZ zone. Keep in mind I am P1, so naturally drops suck.

Andy Tz is one of the best spots...
