I’d start with purchasing an Shako.

Then I would get some swords. A few charms. Maybe a shield.

Jewelry is good to get too.

Don’t forget a good pair of boots. Inferno strides pretty cool.

Lots of grand chums +warcry kinda good.

I’d really contemplate what to socket in you Shako if you get one. You only got one socket don’t miss your chance to blow opportunity comes once in a life time.

Grief PB 32 ias
Goldwarp -> 10ias here means you reach max zerk speed
*gheed’s wager is a tempting belt, but it’s expensive, and you end up requiring ias elsewhere. It’s good on some high end expensive setups.

2x dwarfs -> it completely neglects hydra dmg, you can’t beat this huge gf% anyway. The mdr varies from 12 to 15. Try to get 2x 15.

At this point you only need light/cold res.
Noobs will tell you to get fire res. Theyre wrong.
So gear like inferno or crown of thieves makes no sense.

IK helm is hard to beat for the price.
Big mf/gf, 2os and 2 warcries.
You want tu push your find item (a warcry skill) as high as you can.
This is more important than your kill speed.
2os here means you have room for a cham -> you need cbf, but also don’t want to shatter corpses with a raven.
If playing RotW, your 2nd os would ideally be for this new unique magic dmg jewel (also buffing your gf/mf).
If you don’t have this jewel, a simple Lem will do.

The only good armor is enigma.
Nothing comes close to it, but it’s expensive.
If you can’t afford it, early ladder you can beat a trav barb at its own game by just playing a blizz sorc on budget who can obliterate trav even when using wealth armor and ali baba.

Gloves?
Chancies win if you have decent gear, LoH wins if you have a trash build.

Amy?
If your kill speed is horrible, use HL.
At some point, +2skill with fcr and high gf% is better.

Boots?
In terms of efficient kill speed on a zerker trav barb, wartravs are surprisingly better than gores.
With high end gear, I prefer 30frw light/cold res with high gf/mf.
At some point, zerk’s dmg is not about dps, it’s a threshold where you either reach the next step to kill council members in one less swing, or increasing your dmg does nothing at all.

Inventory matters.
1wc gcs with up to 40% gf are your best option.
Gf% is scalling linearly, while mf is subject to stabilize into a void above ~350% for a trav barb.
Each +1% to find item is juicy. Checkout a skill planer and look at how many hard points and/or +skills you need to reach the next % after maxing find potion.

Merc:
A2 might
You want him to survive, you want him to support you with his aura, you also want him to deliver dmg and split kill different targets.
A high roll eth arioc is beating the dps of eBotD warpike. But also not only better for him, but it gives +4 to his might aura, which is also 40% more ed for you.
Coh armor. Nearly as much dmg vs demons as fort, but no shatter, 2 more to might.
Helm is flexible… CoT is cheap and fine for some extra leech, stacked fire res vs conv, gf% on his kills. Too many options to list here…

If you have questions, pm me.

Play the game a lot more. Find valuable things you don’t need and trade them for pixel gold. Then buy things you do need for more pixel gold.

Based on that perfect guide, you have quite the task ahead.

Budget.

This is a solid guide.

Infernostride can be a cheap option for gold find. Eth Insight for Merc just for the fun of full mana.

I wrote that quickly from the top of my head, so I didn’t cover everything.

On HC, start with SS.
It’s cheap and safe.
If you push your build a bit, beyond budget, at some point you won’t need it to feel safe. But take the time to test it carefully, against amp, with full juvs ready, just to see if you can afford using something else like a 6x Lem off-hand or ali baba or whatever.

On swap, there are many valid options.
1-2x 6 Lem
1-2x ali baba
1-2x hoto
1-2x 3WC magic wep with 2os LemLem
1-2x SB (if you want to reach 105fcr on swap)
It all depends on your budget, but also on your current Find Item breakpoint.
Just +1% is huge.
But +skills also give you higher BO/shout for you snd merc and if they’re not just +WC, like hoto/SB, they also buff your eFRW which is a considerable bonus due to how much running you do each trav run.
So mix n match the options above to prioritize reaching the next FI’s bp (also based on number of WC skillers you have), then you decide if you prefer to increase your gf% or fcr (next bp can save on average 1s per run based on the average number of tele/hork).

Another detail that can save you a few secs per run is to make sure you split your dmg with merc, but also let him finish the last few kill(s) based on how strong he is, while you start horking/looting.
Some people just fight until the end and then start horking while their merc just stands there with nothing to do. It’s easily 5s difference which is huge compared to the short time it takes to complete a run.

Oh and also, if you happen to get your hands on the new unique jewel, the magic one is better than the phys one.
Yes, your zerk dmg is based on ed% and all dmg modifiers before being converted to magic. But the extra magic pen is resulting in more final dmg than the ed%. And anyway the min/max/ed bug is still there and you don’t really want to use anything else than grief on your main hand.

And sunder…
The renewed magic one is worth it, but you need the one with -magic res, the other with +magic dmg won’t work with zerk.
I’d still use it for trav, even if no immunes, cuz that -res is great but it also comes with a bunch of nice extra bonus like gf% and frw or stats.
