Trump's first term he couldnt be involved in a war in Iran, he got elected as a no new wars candidate and he needed a 2nd term for a domestic agenda. after that the US was entangled in Ukraine.
Israel has picked its spot well, they see an opening. nuclear sites down, US somewhat freed up, and the remaining Gulf states starting to form a military and political alliance.
i would amend my statement to say nuclear threat and conventional arms were what prevented israel, now the nukes are down and the US can intercept enough missiles to let Israel start a war. still think they'll be in for a shock when the missiles dont run out in a short time. then its invade or just get shelled for years.
Your first sentence is missing the point. He couldn't
justify a war with Iran before 2021, because they weren't enriching uranium.
I'm still confused on why you think they were stockpiling 60% HEU if not as a deterrent. Could you clear that up?
Other than that I don't think we're in disagreement really. Of course Israel wants regime change in Iran and has for a long time. They've been financing, arming, sheltering and encouraging all of the terrorist groups that attack Israel for decades, as well as attacking Israel themselves.
I don't really have any predictions. Killing Khamenei was great, but regime change would be a lot better. Arming the Kurds would help, which I'm sure we're already doing. Hopefully that doesn't have any disastrous results but honestly, the Islamic Republican government is not Mossadegh. I don't see any reason to imagine that any replacement, even a terrible one, could be worse.
