I'm planning a build for a fury druid, and it seems like the current BIS is to use Metamorphosis/Fort with some eth two-hander, or an eth upped ribcracker for ubers. This seems kind of light on resists. I also wanted to find a way to include Protector's Stone in the build. The ED, flat damage, and -phys resist seem too huge to pass up.

Is a Jalal's socketed with a Protector's Stone competitive with Metamorphosis, or is there an alternative non-runeword armor that would be worth using? I plan to use this char for ubers + general PvE when bored.

Fury is a bit problematic in the sense that you spread ypur damage over multiple targets. With physical immunes around baal, he'll become a pain in the a-holes. He doesn't have any resist skills, so you have to get torch + anni + smoke/coh + jalal etc. I prefer my uberkillers without torch and anni.
Feral rage is the single target skill which isn't fast enough. You could use zoded ereaper to do ubers which I wpuld recommend on a fury druid instead dracula's grasp. Physical sunder is a must in that case.

I've run ubers a couple of times with my fury druid. And while it is absolutely possible, even with GG gear it can still be a bit of a struggle, especially when you compare it to something like a smiter which is just so much more reliable and less risky. You also pretty much have to separate each uber in order to deal with them, whereas a smiter can get away with just throwing themselves headlong into the fray and deal with all 3 at once. Uber fury druid requires more setup and BiS gear. Usually fade prebuff is needed too, just to get those resists high enough.

you've got everything working against you... runewords are basically bis everywhere so sneaking in a jewel is forcing a significant compromise.

meta is going to be very difficult to justify giving up... and if im not mistaken, that jewel is bugged unless its in a weap, or the item has innate enhanced damage% like a circlet can potentially have.
and now you run into the problem of needing a unique or rare weap, thats ethereal but doesnt require the zod rune for you to use this jewel instead. so, that leaves a gg eth rare with self-repair? good luck...
so seems like to alot just to use a bugged jewel right?

maybe consider 1 handers? put the jewel in a stormshield if youre doing ubers? but your dps will suffer. normally people would use phoenix here.

if you can get a +3fury meta, jalals isnt even close if you're proc'in the 2 buffs consistantly...
i say screw the jewel. go with wtv gear you want, id suggest reapers might merc and death on your wolf, run a renewed physical sunder and dont bother with this jewel.

This seems like it might be the way. Eth + Zod + Jewel + maybe a Lo for DS, this would cover resists and the extra MF doesn't suck for PvE. Thank you :)
