My uncle at Blizzard said back then and I corrrectly predicted the first two banwaves in RotW, The first phase was the maphack injection and bots based on that one. The second one was the mass unique conversion from expansion to RotW which allowed blizzard to flag bot accounts.
What botters are gonna do? Of course bot, they don't have anything better to do. Their logic reminds me of this:

So, the creative bot minds came up with a pixel bot for RotW. That thing works for sorc, pala and warlock only for now. To not be caught, they go to great lengths of alternating multiple accounts for boting. They hope to not be flagged like they were during the mass conversion events.
My uncle at blizzard is watching, of course. Just waiting for enough people to jump ship to pull the trigger again.
So why am I posting this? My uncle is dumb and lazy. Sometimes, people are punished by assossiation who did nothing wrong by the automated process. Try to not mingle much with actual botters before the trigger is pulled the 3rd time.

Pixelbot was the first public bot on D2R and also the first mass ban wave. It’s also been periodically banned since then, I highly doubt botters are using pixelbots anymore.

last time i checked which was like 3 weeks before first ladder was that there were some private ones who were pretty similar to the ones used in lod just not publicly available

AI bots when

I’m sure they’re still out there, but they’ll always be easily detected and bannable because mouse movements are like finger prints in that no two are the same and these bots have the same fingerprint over and over again for hours on end with zero deviations. I’m sure Blizz loves them though, it ensures a constant income stream to prop up earning reports once they’ve flagged enough accounts.
