Items that you have not yet on your chronicle should have some kind of visual clue when they are on the floor.
I end up picking the same items again and again only to check if i already have them.

You can use loot filter to filter what items you already have.
Unless base has 2 kinds and you have found only one.
But basically you can filter away base + rarity.
It might take a bit of time to do it, and is a bit annoying to do it everytime you find the item, you could just write down what new item (/and base it belongs to) you got and at the end of the session update your loot filter.
Anyways, there is a solution, besides your own memory remembering.

Yeah, the it takes a LOT of time to add a item to the filter.
This should be automated. Adding a little symbol to the end would be a nice option.
I still have a little faith. The first days all items where saying that they could be added to your chronicle, no matter if you already had it, and they changed it.

Yeah I still think your idea is a good one, really

But until then thats the best solution I have found.
I intend on going to my chronicle, write down every item I have found and its base, and doing it - havent done it yet - and then I guess writing down on an excel or whatever the items found per session and then hiding them - except for the valuable ones ofc that you dont hide even if already found -, seems like a good option.
Dont have access to 2 screens atm so I might just write down on paper, I will see.
