At some point you did not need a sunder for cold as sorc to break cold immune

Is this still the case?

If i skip on a sunder charm and wanna do only towers and summoner which combo of elements i should do?

This is hc btw and will either have a cure prayer merc or holyfreeze merc

You can do everything with a blizzard sorc. You just need static and a moderately strong merc for P1. Most dangerous enemies in the tower are amplify damage archers who are light immune.

Cold sorc is generally a cheap early ladder farmer until you find better gear. It is genenrally used for areas with a low chance to find cold immunes, particularly ancient tunnels, along with farming meph/andy super early.

It is outclassed by more expensive sorc and other class builds.

With that said, if you prefer cold because your own personal reasons, you will want a cold sunder.

Just to be clear she is the 3rd char
Smiter n warlock level 90 not dead

Her only use is to get hate and terror k

Gonna stack as much life and dex with rhyme to he safe
Minimal strength (hel lum fal armor) no plus skill
Goal is to tele get the key and gtfo

I don’t care what elemental she use as long its the best for this

to answer your question, you need a sunder and cold mastery is penalized when sunder breaks the immunity.

Cold is the best on the cheap

But once you move on from areas that aren’t ancient tunnels, you will really miss not having a sunder

Fundamentally, cold is just an early ladder, budget char that farms specific areas to take advantage of minimal chances to run into cold immunes. Most notably, ancient tunnels.

In d2r, cold became more viable as a cold sunder made it easy to farm all areas on the cheap.

Take away sunder, and your cold sorc is ultimately relegated to farming ancient tunnels.

She is running key (hate/terror) fine. Level 63. Haven't ventured in act 4

Merc dies ALL the time on an armour with strength and resist to lift insight thresher. He got bulwark 13% and 6% life leech
On swap I got a life tap wand : only way the idiot survives (unless i baby sit with teleport and potions) and I often have to step in front of him and tank (not ideal in hardcore)
I honestly think I should make smoke when he does not need the str bonus from current armour. Treachery is sweet when it triggers but it needs to trigger! Cold res would be nice for tower tho

I got
20 static field 20 Nova 5 lightning mastery ---> they changed static and it now goes under 50% in hell which is sweet
20 blizzard 1 cold mastery ---> the fire and forgot slow is nice

I got 1055 life and max block
wizard spike, bulwark, lionheart breast plate, bloodfist, whistan guard ELD (only need 116 dex for max block), some 44 life amulet with resist, ring 27 life and resist, ring fcr +6 replenish, fcr crafted belt, dual resist crafted blood boots
