Let me try a different explanation -- you are talking about an linear growth in the sourcing of low level runes (eg, picking up all the ones people used to leave behind) and applying that to exponential requirements for cubing high level runes (it takes 3 for one upgrade, 243 for five upgrades, 59,049 for ten upgrades). You don't have to go all the way from El to Zod. That's people poking fun. Going from El to Thul is already 59,049 runes.

The higher runes are significantly easier to find than any effort to cube them upwards.

You use the word 'chain reaction' which implies exponential growth, but you're trying to use an arithmetic solution to an exponential problem. The guy farming Hell Countess is going to outpace any cubing solution that involves picking up El, Eld, Tir, Nef etc.

Each time you convert runes, you free up space in each rune slot that will take more time to full up again. That's why it is exponential. You better let those slot full, farm runes then sell them to get those extra high runes at the end.

negligible. low runes are so abundant youll replenish your stocks quickly.

im 42 and I remember people talking about this in high school.

As long as you are stashing EVERY rune you will lose. Having a better stash maybe means it's worth keeping runes 3-4 levels lower than you would with a more limited inventory (for the SOLE purpose of cubing). Any deeper than that and the exponential math involved in cubing starts destroying your time.

my status is 1 or 2 pages back.

i speculate that high runes will be poor stores of value once JSP is inevitably flooded with cheap HR's.

weeks from now, my runes will be converting into Lo. we'll see how much effort i put into this project but inevitably ill be fully saturated in every slot in a reasonable amount of time!
