Can any PvP folks here offer up some insight as to how dueling is on RotW SCNL? I've heard the Warlock character is unbalanced.

I've been holding off on purchasing RotW and converting my characters. Im fine staying on Expansion, its nostalgic and the character classes are well balanced.

The problem I'm running into is the number of players in Expansion is dwindling fast. No duel games listed, so I created my own, no one joined for 30 min. No baal runs, so create my own, never filled up, maxed out at like 5-6 players. I understand everyone is playing ladder right now, but I think RotW killed expansion like Expansion killed Classic.

I skimmed the trade forums here for number of users and you can see that Expansion is a dead as Classic.
Classic NL: 15
Classic Ladder: 20
Expansion NL: 35
Expansion Ladder: 40
RotW NL: 240
RotW: 1750

I don't think people who are seriously into PvP are really into RotW right yet. I don't see a lot of duel games in NL RotW. Too many newbie idiots from D4 flocking around atm. It's not just that Warlock is insanely overtuned, it's the potential for future stupid changes that could further ruin PvP and most people who duel aren't interested in that. Sure is fun PKing these people with overtuned Warlocks though. inb4 Blizz decides to change how the hostile function works and forces 'pvp' zones onto us.

I've seen similar posts of people saying they aren't converting their PvP characters. Worried I would regret doing so, be it the lack of a quality dueling scene, overpowered new characters, or a constantly changing Meta as Blizzard attempts to extract every penny out of this game even if it means killing it in the process.

I probably just need to buy RotW and create a new character and see what its like firsthand before making a decision.

a lot of the pvp players also mf

this is first new content in years and its huge so expect pvp to take a back seat, there wont be many pub games.

That being said there are plenty of pvp discords with tournaments on every few days and pvp seems fine for all except there seems to be a lot of crashes in TVT

as far as new items go all new items are currently banned in legit pvp
