The real answer, P1 sucks. No drop rate is very high, by having very high mf you get more magical items instead of bases here and there. Mf is only useful when hunting act bosses or horking with a barb for very low no drop rate. Barb is the best mf char in the game, pitzerker that is.
In P5+, you could run with 0 mf and still find way more useful stuff than the guy with 1100mf in P1.
Last but not least, nothing drops if you don't kill something. Never sacrifice kill speed for more mf.

p1 i'd only do on horking barb
otherwise 250-300mf is the sweet spot for maintaining clearspeed in most cases
